GYB Opening Day 2024

Our Opening Day Celebration is almost here!

We’ll kick off the day with our Parade down Broad Street, followed by our Opening Ceremony, and then games! We’re looking forward to a fun-filled day! Griffith Girls Softball will be joining us  to celebrate the start of their season, too!

The parade will begin promptly at 9am at the Franklin Center and head down Broad Street to Pine, where we’ll end at our Major Field. Our Opening Ceremony will immediately follow the parade. And then it’s time to PLAY! (See schedule below)

Important Info for Griffith Youth Baseball / Griffith Girls Softball Teams:

• Wear your uniforms but no cleats until game time. Dress for the weather
• Arrive in the Franklin Center parking lot no later than 8:45am. You can begin arriving at 8:00am. Please do not arrive before this time. ONLY VEHICLES IN THE PARADE ARE PERMITTED IN THE LOT. NO DROP OFFS IN THE LOT! Parents must drop off players OUTSIDE the lot. Streets will be busy and parking will be limited.
• You can ride in a vehicle (only one vehicle per team – please decorate if you can!) or walk in the parade. We like a mixture of both! You must stop by the entrance of the lot to see Erinn and Samantha who will direct you where to park. Signs can be carried by walkers. Candy is not allowed to be thrown.
• Tell your family and friends to line up along Broad Street so you can wave to them!
• If you are driving in the parade, when you reach our major field, you’ll park along the side streets and walk to the field. Teams, you’ll enter the Major Field and line up around the perimeter of the field.
• The Opening Ceremony will begin once all players are in the field!
• Games start at 10:30am

Blue Jays @ Angels 12:30pm
Diamondbacks @ Red Sox 2:30pm
White Sox @ Blue Jays 4:30pm

Major:
Padres @ White Sox 3
